I have another site for Thraxas, at www.thraxas.com
7 December 07: I wrote
a blog about the current situation with Thraxas.
There are eight Sword and Sorcery novels about Thraxas. I wrote them
under the pseudonym of Martin Scott. The UK publisher is Orbit.
The first Thraxas novel won the World Fantasy Award, awarded
at the World Fantasy Convention in Texas, October 2000.
My award, surrounded by some foreign editions. |
Thraxas is a private investigator in the mystical city of Turai. He has some sorcerous powers but mainly he just drinks a lot of beer. Consequently he is always broke and has to live in the poor part of the city. Thraxas is overweight, bad tempered, and a keen gambler at the chariot races.
Thraxas is friends with Makri, an escapee from the gladiator pits. Makri is the most savage fighter ever seen in Turai. She's also a budding intellectual and divides her time between her studies and hacking up opponents with her vast array of weapons.
Thraxas has been translated and published in Holland, Poland, Russia, Japan, France, Germany, the Czech Republic
and China. Thraxas is published in the USA by Baen.
